Reprocessing status Reprocessing of DBV-11 data started 29 January Current datarec versions: DBV-12 DBV-13 Essentially the same DBV-12 has small bug in DTFS bank which will be corrected in DST’s DatesDBV OriginalDone  L dt pb -1 MEvts  L dt pb -1 MEvts 13/3-30/ /6-30/ /6-31/ /10-7/ Total

Reprocessing statistics weeks Mean CPU efficiency  Recall raw files to local /recalled area  Tape library software upgrade  Other tuning of datarec scripts  added 12 new CPU’s  Runs to be recalled selected from different servers  Further fine tuning of datarec scripst Transient problems broken tape, human errors

Reprocessing statistics weeks Mean rate (KHz) weeks Mean Lumunosity (pb -1 ) Start DBV-10 reprocessing Very flat mean reconstructed luminosity due to cancellations between: Increase in processing efficiency Decrease in integrated luminosity corresponding to given number of triggers Mean (Last month) Maximum attained Theoretical maximum Rate (KHz) Lum (pb-1)

Reprocessing plans DBV/Program Remaining  L dt pb -1 MEvtsDays 10 No trips Undone & trips Trips All data Estimated time to completion based on a mean processing rate of: 2.5 KHz corresponding to 76 CPU’s at 75% efficiency Other items: Optimization for new CPU’s Requires: Careful testing and comparison of results Some work on organization of libraries, etc.

Data Quality Need to establish groups of runs of certified quality with consistent conditions in terms of background,  s, … SubsystemPotential problemsSolution DCTripsDCTRIPRS EmC CalibrationsShould be OK Dead channelsRun survey Trigger Incorrect thresholdsRun survey Consistency of cardsRun survey MagnetLarge excursionsNot reconstructed Need to assign basic quality-control tasks: Thorough job would include systematic scan of monitoring histograms: PHYSMON, datarec statistics, datarec histograms

Run grouping: background How to measure background: Study topologies with known multiplicity of active elements DCLAB’s (116 hits), gg ’s (0 hits) Use VLAB module to estimate EmCAccidentals Parameterize background and form run groups Study impacts on efficiency: Part will necessarily be analysis specific Efficiencies vs. background for reference samples K S  p + p -, K S  p 0 p 0, K L crash MC: generation which reflects complexity of data

 s, p f, x f Synthesize and verify information from these sources: DB2  s from K S  p + p -, K L crash histogram_history  s from Bhabha, K S  p + p - HepDBp f, x f Study efficiencies vs.  s, … Individual analyses Reference samples? Survey of fluctuations in B: Careful to disentangle from  s (m K ) Particular attention to transitions in magnet current Precise calibration based on m K: Stored in database Used to update DST’s

DBV-12 DST Status KSL stream (dk0): Most runs on interval to completed 18 pb-1 of DBV-11 RAD stream (drn, drc): All runs on interval to completed 10 pb-1 of DBV-11 RPI stream (d3p): No runs completed yet

DST Plans Previous experience 1pb-1/hour on about 12 CPU’s 4 drives, 14 MB/sec 4 drives currently used by reprocessing DST production in parallel with reprocessing Input from disk (datarec output) 4 Sun CPU’s More than adequate to keep up with reprocessing

MC version Revision of K---> 3p generator to fix Dalitz plots: K S ---> 3p 0 was not generated with pure phase space fixed K S ---> p + p - p 0 calculation of s0 fixed K L ---> p + p - p 0 calculation of s0 fixed K L ---> 3p 0 was not generated with pure phase space fixed, a small Quadratic term in the matrix element added (NA48 CERN-EP ) K  ---> 3p calculation of s0 fixed Data card to generate K---> 3p according to pure phase space Initial state radiation in e+e---> wp 0 introduced EVA generator revised completely (flat spectrum f 0 g--->p 0 p 0 g ) Better simulation of QCAL efficiency New code and DATA CARD introduced to generate uncorrelated background form DAFNE

MC production MC generation and reconstruction starting on Sun machines in parallel with reprocessing (fsun03—fsun08, 24 CPU’s available) Currently soliciting MC generation requests: 1.2 M phi all events requested, useful for many people 4.4 M K S p + p -, K L all events requested Many small, dedicated signal samples requested Detailed list available at:
