PLANTATIONS IN IRELAND – AN INTRO 2ND YR

INTRO Made up of 3 distinct people England claimed to own Ireland But the only part they controlled was the Pale Small area of Dublin and its surroundings

Irish Clans

The Pale People who were loyal to king Spoke English Were protestants Followed Eng law Wore English fashions

Common law The people in Pale followed this English system of law Courts held in courthouse Harsh sentences Punishments such as jail or hanging
