Oct 22, 2015  Goal: SGO assessment on Imperialism QOD: Are there any concepts that you do not understand that might be on the test tomorrow. Look through your notes and discuss  Agenda: SGO assessment, make up work, America  American Dream organizer

Treaty of Versailles   June 1919   Signed by “big 3”   Germany not invited   New countries formed like Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia…independence for Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia (Baltic Sea countries)   Creation of the League of Nations (No USA)   Punished Germany:

Wilson’s14 points  Although many of Wilson’s 14 points are considered for the treaty, he is adamant about creating the League of Nations. It is his main goal.  When he returns to the US, Congress denies entry into the League of Nation  Wilson will spend the rest of his life trying to convince the American people to pressure Congress into joining.

What are the implications for Europe because of this treaty?  Germany will be blamed for everything  Forced to pay all reparations-this will put them into an economic tailspin  Forced to reduce military  Lose land  Now what?
