Have you ever thought about what you want to be when you grow up? An astronaut; a doctor; how about a teacher? One of the many reasons you come to speech class is to help you succeed, by improving your communication of course! Today, you will learn about some very important people, many of whom you may recognize, who have succeeded despite their speech disorders.

This assignment will boost your confidence and let you know that you CAN accomplish your goals with hard work and dedication. At the end of this assignment, you will have written a paragraph about the 3 people you admire the most from the websites you visit. Accommodations: Any students who may have trouble completing an entire paragraph can write between 1-3 sentences, depending on the level.

1. Visit these links; make notes of anybody who makes an impression on you or who you admire. Write down a few details about them p p neurological-disorder/ neurological-disorder/ 2. Pick your favorite 3 people who you have read about. 3. Write a paragraph (4-6 sentences) discussing who your 3 favorite people are and why you choose them. Then write about what lessons you learned that can apply to your life.

3 points: Paragraph meets length requirement and contains proper grammar. 3 points: Paragraph has a clear message and is easily understood. 2 points: Paragraph includes your 3 favorite people and why you chose them. 2 points: Paragraph mentions the lessons you learned 10 points total

Congratulations: you have finished! You have learned about some of the great accomplishments that people with speech disabilities have made. You can do the same!
