Why They Are Useful  Can reduce carbon dioxide and other global warming emissions.  Drivers save an average of $750 to $1,200 compared to operating a gasoline car.

Problems With Gas Cars  Greenhouse Gas/Pollution  12 cents per mile

Where Are They Used?  U.S. With 70% of total electric cars in the world  Japan with 16%  Netherlands with 8%  China, France, and Norway with 6%

How These Areas Are Benefited  Electric operations reduce tailpipe emissions, greenhouse gases, and allows the use of cleaner, renewable, and environmentally friendly energy source.

Should We Use This In Texarkana  Saves the environment  Decreases pollution  People can save money  Environmentally friendly

Changing The World  Electric motors produce maximum torque  Faster than a gas-powered car  Easier to fuel than a gas-powered car

Way Of The Future  Can be made by wind power, solar power, geothermal heat, etc.  Will benefit from advancements in batteries, motors, electronic management, and charging.  This also dovetails nicely with the advent of more renewable electricity generation.

President’s Goal  President Barack Obama plans on having 1 million electric vehicles on the road by  Initial costs and lack of familiarity with technology could be barriers.  For that reason, President Barack Obama has proposed steps to accelerate America’s leadership in electric vehicle deployment.

Fun Facts  You can use a home power outlet to charge them  They’re quite  They can be fast- really fast  They’ve been around for over 180 years  They’re selling well  The range is getting better  SUVs are going electric  Celebrities love them  Car companies haven’t always been excited Electric vehicles  You can do it yourself!
