How to Enter Field Data Note: Field Shifts are in Blue This tutorial will walk you through the following steps: Step 1 – Pick or Enter the Field Shift Step 2 – Attend the Field Shift Step 3 – Go to FISDAP to enter the data for that shift Step 4 – Enter your field data Step 5 – Review your data Step 6 – Enter your password Step 7 – Complete the shift
Step 1 – Pick or Enter the Field Shift You must have the shift in your shift list in order to add data. This can happen in one of three ways: 1. Your instructor creates a shift and assigns you to it. Note: Your program may be set up so that only some of these methods are available. 2. You create your own shift. 3. You pick an existing shift from the calendar.
Step 1, method 1 – Instructor assigned If your instructor creates your shifts and assigns them to you, the shifts will automatically appear in your shift list. You can move directly on to Step 2: Attending the Field Shift
Step 1, method 2 – Add Shift First, click on Data Entry Then, click on Field under Add Shifts
Enter the information for the new Field Shift Then enter your password Step 1, method 2 – Add Shift
First, go to the Calendar Click on the Field Shift you want (make sure it has an open green door) Step 1, method 3 – Pick Shift
Review the Field Shift information to make sure it’s the one you want Then enter your password Step 1, method 3 – Pick Shift
Step 2 – Attend the Field Shift Go on your field internship Keep track of what you observed and performed Get your preceptor’s signature
First, click on Data Entry Step 3 – Choose the Field Shift you need to add a run to Then, click the Add button next to the shift you need to add a run to
Click on these buttons to enter data in any of the 11 categories Step 4 – Enter your Data You will be entering ONE RUN at a time
Step 4 – Enter your Data You are required to enter data in the top 2 categories Add data in these 9 categories as needed
Step 4 – Enter your Data The summary section will show you all the data you have entered so far for the run Enter the data for the chosen category in the top frame
Step 4 – Enter your Data For these 5 categories You must click OK after entering the data
Step 4 – Enter your Data That skill will then be added to the list for that category You can add more skills to the list by clicking Add
Step 4 – Enter your Data Some categories have red Eval buttons you can click on to add an evaluation of your performance of that skill
Step 4 – Enter your Data Your program may allow you to write one narrative for each Field run; if so, you will see the Narrative button
Step 4 – Enter your Data When you click on the Narrative button, a new window will pop up, containing a textbox in which to write your narrative Once you’ve entered your narrative, click Send. When you save the run data, an of the narrative will be sent to you and your instructor
Step 5 – Review your Data When you have finished entering the run data, review the summary and make any necessary changes
Step 6 – Confirm Password When you have confirmed the run data, enter your password and click Submit
Step 7 – Complete the Shift Once you have entered ALL the runs for a shift, you should mark the shift “complete” Click the link in the “Complete” column to change complete status
Step 7 – Complete the Shift Then enter your password Mark the shift as “Complete”
Enter this contact: You are the team Leader on an 18 yo Hispanic Male Diabetic. -Found Unresponsive at first. -Vitals: BP 80/p, Blood Glucose level 20, SaO2=99% on O2 (10lpm via NRB). -You started an IV (missed once) and gave him D50W (25gm IV). Editing and Deleting Data When you have submitted your data into FISDAP you can edit it until the shift is marked as complete. After that, only instructors can make a change. To make a change click on the Edit button next to the shift in the shift list. To delete data go to the “Admin” section. Detailed instructions on how to remove data are in the help menu.
