Looking at shape in abstract, symbolic way.

Artists use “shape” for many reasons... To represent a form or object.

... to show movement,

... to symbolize emotion,

And create interest and variety.

For this unit we will do a project turning 2-D “shapes” into 3-D “forms”. Draw some interesting “drips” Learn how to give form to an object by adding shadows, reflected light and highlights. Shade and add highlights to your drips.

We also look at the work of Arturo Herrera.

And create an abstract paper collage inspired by childhood memories.
