Who is Henry Wadsworth Longfellow? “We judge ourselves by what we feel capable of doing, while others judge us by what we have already done.’ A popular poet- using his knowledge of European writing traditions, Longfellow created poems that are distinctly American. Many of his poems focused on people and events in American history. His gentle, romantic vision of the world made him the most popular American poet of his time.

What do you know about Paul Revere? As you read think about historical accuracy. Which do you think is more important: Paul Revere’s destination or his journey? Give reasons to support your answer.
