Training Programmes for PSM(CD) Aims of Training Programmes  To equip participants with necessary knowledge & skills to be curriculum leaders for curriculum reforms in HK  To apply knowledge and skills of the above in the contexts of local schools  To promote professionalism and life-learning capabilities

Components of Training Programmes A.Seminar on curriculum reforms in HK (10 hrs) B.Web-based course on curriculum change (20 hrs) C.Curriculum planning, learning & teaching (25 hrs) D.Assessment for learning (7 hrs) E.Curriculum management, leadership, action research, professional development & organisational learning (35 hrs) F.Sharing & networks (3 hrs)

Component A Seminars on “Curriculum Reforms in Hong Kong” Objective Put the role of PSM(CD) in the context of HK curriculum reforms & school-based curriculum development

Component B Web-based Course on “Curriculum Change: Leadership and Management” by OUHK Objective Access to basic reference materials on most topics on website

Component C1 Curriculum Leader Training Program Prof Colin Marsh  Curriculum planning & design (6 hours, 180 participants in 4 groups) Objective To understand basic principles of curriculum planning at different levels, and to apply them to the open & flexible KLA curriculum frameworks

Component C1 (Cont’d)  Learning theories  Learning & teaching and assessment strategies  Catering for individual differences  Teacher Presentation Objective To update knowledge on learning & theories, pedagogies, & local experiences in catering for individual differences

Component D Course on “Assessment for Learning” Prof Shirley Clark Objective To update knowledge on assessment for learning, and also apply useful practices to HK (e.g. quality marking)

Component E Course on “Curriculum Management, Leadership, Action Research, Professional Development and Organisational Learning” Objective To discuss and anchor experiences in the topics/B, conduct an action research suited to the school contexts for professional and organizational learning.
