Does the egg color affect the number of chicks that hatch?
THE EGG COLOR WILL NOT AFFECT THE QUALITY OF THE CHICK. THE OUTER COVERING OF THE EGG IS MADE UP OF CALCIUM CARBONATE. THE CHICK MAY BE WHITE OR BROWN DEPENDING ON THE BREED OF THE CHICKEN. THERE ARE TWO MEMBRAINS AROUND THE ALBUMEN. IT TAKES 21 DAYS FOR THE CHICK’S LIFE CYCLE. THE CHICK HAS AN EGG TOOTH TO BREAK THROUGH ITS SHELL.
IF THE EGGSHELL COLOR IS CHANGED, THEN THE BROWN COLORED EGGS WILL PRODUCE MORE CHICKS.
INCUBATOR 3 GROUPS OF 18 EGGS WATER THERMOMETER
1. PUT THE 54 EGGS IN GROUPS OF 18 EGGS IN AN INCUBATOR. 2. TAKE THE EGGS AND MARK THEM WITH X’S AND O’S TO TRACK THAT THE EGGS ARE TURNING. 3. TAKE CARE OF THE EGGS FOR 18 DAYS BY; FILLING UP THE WATER, MAKING SURE THE THEREMOMETER IS AT 100° FARENHEITAND TURNING THE EGGS EVERY HOUR OF THE DAY SO ALL THE EGGS WILL GET WARM. 4. WHEN DAY 21 ARRIVES THE BABY CHICKS SHOULD MAKE A HOLE IN THE EGG. 5. OBSERVE THE COLOR OF THE EGGS AND CHICKS. 6. REALIZE THAT CHICKS COULD ARRIVE AFTER DAY 21.

THE HYPOTHESIS WAS NOT SUPPORTED. LIGHT BROWN EGGS HATCHED THE MOST CHICKS INSTEAD OF DARK BROWN EGGS. The results did support my research that eggshell color really should not matter.
