Effectiveness of Scent Killer By Jordan Ball And Cesar Villegas

Purpose 1. Does my scent really bother Deer? 2. Do Scent Killers make a difference and if so which Scent Killers works the best? 3. Will putting up the T-shirts affect the deer coming into the stations?

Procedure The procedure of this project is 1. First find spots with a lot of deer activity and good feeding habitats 2.Put out the cameras with bait and leave them for a few weeks 3. Give some Middle-School GYM students A few T-Shirts to wear, so we can then set Them up at our sites. 4. Using the pictures, input the data into A spreadsheet.

Keys to Finding Good Areas 1. First You need to take long walks through the woods and find the best places with vegetation and heavily used bedding areas 2. Hike the trails and look for scatter. 3.

Putting Out The Cameras 1.Attach the camera to the tree. 2.Put the camera on test mode, To check the camera’s line of sight. 3. If it’s where you want it, turn the camera on live motion, put the cover back on and walk away.

Collecting The T-Shirts 1.Take a three old shirts and let gym students wear them so they are heavy in Human scent. 2. When the shirts are ready, we will wash one With the scent killer Clothing Wash, Spray one with the Ordinary Scent Killer, and leave one Alone to represent a human. 3. Hang the T-Shirts on a piece of rebar at each site.

Collecting The Data After picking 4 out of the 6 sites it’s time to start collecting the data. We then put the cards in the cameras and left them for a week before changing them. When we get the cards out of the cameras and back into the building we then downloaded them onto the computer, and put them into a speed sheet. Then we analyzed the data to see which, if any, worked better.

How we Analyzed The data

The Results

More Results

Statistical Analysis After comparing all the different treatments to one another, we had to except the hypothesis that there is, statistically, no difference between the Treatments.
