Thanksgiving is a very popular holiday in the United States and Americans celebrate this special day on the fourth Thursday of November. Every year, families and friends around the United States get together to enjoy a delicious meal and to give thanks for everything they have. A typical meal consists of; turkey, mashed potatoes, different vegetables, cranberry sauce and many tasty desserts!

The journey lasted 66 days and many people on the ship became sick and died from hunger and illness. Finally, they reached land in an area called Massachusetts.
