WE CONFES OUR SINS TO GOD

Let us confess our sins in the presence of God and of each other. We confess to you, almighty God, before the whole company of heaven, and to each other, that we have sinned in thought, word and deed, by our own fault. Have mercy on us, for Jesus’ sake, forgive us all our sins, and bring us to eternal life. Amen.

May the almighty and merciful Lord grant you pardon and forgiveness of all your sins. Amen.

Merciful Saviour, you have taught us that those who believe in you will not be condemned, but have already passed from death to life. Give us faith in your forgiveness, so that we fearlessly wait for the time when you set us completely free. For you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. REASONS TO BE THANKFUL Psalm 100

We confess our faith I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.

He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty, from thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. * ‘catholic’ here meaning 'universal'

GOD RECEIVES OUR OFFERING

To God be the glory, great things he has done! So loved he the world that he gave us his Son, Who yielded his life an atonement for sin, And opened the life-gate that all may go in!

Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear his voice! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give him the glory, great things he has done!

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God! And every offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives:

Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear his voice! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give him the glory, great things he has done!

Great things he has taught us, great things he has done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our rapture, when Jesus we see:

Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear his voice! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give him the glory, great things he has done!

We pray an offering prayer (the following or another offering prayer is spoken) What can I offer to the Lord for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call on the name of the Lord.

I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and call on the name of the Lord. I will keep my promises to the Lord in the presence of all his people; in the courts of the house of the Lord, in your midst, O Jerusalem.

We Pray For Ourselves and the World… Prayer response: Lord in your mercy Hear our prayer

SILENT REFLECTION As our hearts are prepared for Holy Communion

The Distribution If this is what you believe, then you are welcome to partake in Holy Communion, whether you are a member of this congregation or not. Holy Communion is for believers in Jesus who desire to receive God’s forgiveness and believe that Christ is present in this celebration as they eat the bread and drink the wine.

Prayer after Holy Communion P: We give you thanks almighty God, that you have refreshed us through this healing gift; and we pray that through it you would graciously strengthen us in faith toward you and in love toward one another; through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. C: Amen.

Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honour and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and always. Amen. BLESSING

Make me a channel of Your Peace

Make me a channel of your peace; Where there is hatred, let me bring your love; Where there is injury, you pardon, Lord, And where there’s doubt, true faith in you. 1/4 Make me a channel of your peace; Where there’s despair in life, let me bring hope Where there is darkness, only light And where there’s sadness, ever joy. 2/4

O master, grant that I may never seek So much to be consoled, as to console, To be understood as to understand, To be loved, as to love with all my soul. 3/4 Make me a channel of your peace, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, In giving to all men that we receive, And in dying that we’re born to life. 4/4 Based on a Prayer by St Francis of Assisi
