Access to the World and Its Languages Performance Measures Percentage of less and least commonly taught languages, as defined by the Department of Education, that are taught at our Nation's Title VI NRCs. Currently there are 285 languages on the list.

Access to the World and Its Languages Performance Measures Percentage of critical need languages, as defined by the Department of Education, taught at NRCs. Currently there are 78 languages on the list.

Access to the World and Its Languages Performance Measures Percentage of NRC grantees teaching intermediate or advanced courses in critical need languages, as defined by the Department of Education.

Access to the World and Its Languages Performance Measures Percentage of NRC master's and doctoral graduates who report that they found employment that utilizes their language and area skills. –(We are still on the hook for this one, however, OMB has agreed to "table it" for the time-being, until the methodology is refined for collecting this information in the FLAS program.)

Access to the World and Its Languages Efficiency Measure Cost per Master's or doctoral degree graduate employed in fields of postsecondary education or government.

Access to the World and Its Languages Project Evaluation Profile (PEP)

Access to the World and Its Languages Grantee Role It is critical that grantees work with IEPS to develop NRC performance measures that can be presented to OMB as viable options to the student tracking measure

Access to the World and Its Languages HEOA Requirement It is critical that we work together to develop a viable option for student tracking –‘‘(d) SURVEY.—The Secretary shall assist grantees in developing a survey to administer to students who have completed programs under this title to determine postgraduate employment, education, or training. All grantees, where applicable, shall administer such survey once every two years and report survey results to the Secretary.’’

Access to the World and Its Languages HEOA Requirements In keeping with purposes of this part, the Secretary takes into account the degree to which activities of centers, programs, and fellowships at institutions of higher education address national needs, and generate information for and disseminate information to the public. The Secretary also considers an applicant’s record of placing students into postgraduate employment, education, or training in areas of national need and an applicant’s stated efforts to increase the number of such students that go into such placements. Each application must include- –An explanation of how the activities funded by the grant will reflect diverse perspectives and a wide range of views and generate debate on world regions and international affairs; and –A description of how the applicant will encourage government service in areas of national need, as identified by the Secretary, as well as in areas of need in the education, business, and nonprofit sectors.
