20 th April 2012 To All our Pre Primary Parents, Teachers & Make-a-Difference Friends, Make-a-Difference Winter Party – Saturday 26 th May 2012 With winter around the corner, most of us are very aware of and sensitive towards the fact that there are many families and particularly children, that find winter extremely difficult due to the extreme cold and lack of food. Together with the Pre primary, we will be hosting another Winter party at Trinityhouse for 65 underpriveleged children from Musenga Primary School in Diepsloot. The party is set for Saturday 26 th May. We have put together a list of 65 children that most need to be involved in an outreach programme of this type. The list of children includes many orphans being cared for by Grandparents or older siblings, as well as many children from homes where both or one of their parents is ill or unemployed and buying the most basic ‘essential’ items such as food, clothing etc.. is an enormous challenge. Through organizing this party, we hope to make a small difference in the life of each of the children, by giving them hope and showing them that there are people out there that care. In addition to lots of fun activities at the winter party - like face painting, make n bake, arts & crafts, music activities & a tasty wholesome meal for lunch, we would also like to bless each of these children with a gift of a lovely warm jacket & blanket to keep them warm during the cold winter months ahead. As with most functions of this size, there are always costs associated. We would like to appeal to as many parents and possibly local businesses & companies to assist with the sponsoring of the other items needed. If you or your company would be willing to assist us with any of the areas / items mentioned below – either by way of sponsorship or a good discount, we would be EXTREMELY grateful. We will be sending out a newsletter to all pre school families after the Winter Party mentioning all the sponsoring companies & their contact details. Sponsors will also be mentioned on our website. If you would like to assist, please contact us as soon as possible (see contact details on reverse), or alternatively, you can do a transfer to the banking details below. (Please just send us an to let us know that you’ve transferred so that we can keep track) Trinityhouse & The Make-a-Difference Project ‘This project is so much more than just the practical side of gifts, blankets and clothing.. This project is about showing these children how special they are, how much they are loved…. and that they haven’t been forgotten about by society. This project is about giving new hope…. Trinityhouse & the Make-a-Difference project -standing together as a school, and Making-a-Difference in the community, one child at a time…. P.T.O

Let’s start by giving HOPE.” If you would like to be involved, or are able to assist with sponsorship, please contact Rebecca as soon as possible – any assistance will be greatly appreciated !!! Thanks for your support Take Care, The Make-a-Difference Team Rebecca, Robyn, Godfrey & Natalie The Starfish Story One day, a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a young boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked “What are you doing ?”, to which the boy replied, “I’m throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they will die.” “Son”, the man said, “Don’t you realize that there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish ? You can’t possibly make a difference !” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said….. “I made a difference for that one.” ‘”Because while many people sit back and worry about an enormous problem – You are able to make a small difference that could mean a major change in one child’s life” Check out our website on
