Lesya Ukrainka (Larisa Petrovna Kosach) ( ) Lesya Ukrainka is a Ukranian writer who created her works in different literary genres:poetry, lyrics,epic,drama,prose,etc. She worked with folklore -200 folk melodies were recorded from her voice. Lesya activetely participated in Ukranian national movement.

In Granite, Bronze, cinematography… Museums, University, Award, Library, Theatres, Cinematography, Streets in Lutsk,Moscow,Tbilisi,Minsk,Batumi,Irkutsk,Yalta,Si mferopol and in many other cities carry the name of Lesya Ukrainka There are monuments to Lesya Ukrainka. Her portraits are on stamps,coins and banknotes.

Italy.San-Remo On the 23 of May 1997,a solemn unveiling of a memorial plague to Lesya Ukrainka took place in the villa Adriana. The owner of the villa showed the room where Lesya Ukrainka had lived and written her prophetic words about the revival of Ukraine. M.Morotti made a report “San-Remo in Lesya Ukrainka s life”.

Volyn State University Its museum named after Lesya Ukrainka is the pride of the University. It possesses thousands of exhibits collected by its students in different years.

Award Lesya Ukrainka Literary Prize was introduced by the government of the Ukranian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1971 on the centenary of Lesya Ukrainka s birth.This award is annually given for highly-creative literary works for children.
