7 th Grade Life Science Curriculum  Earth Systems, Structures and Processes  Force and Motion  Structures and Functions of Living Organisms  Evolution and Genetics

7 th Grade / Level 2 Science Course Description  Students will study the nature of science, science as inquiry, skills and processes needed in science, and technology in science through environmental, social and personal perspectives.  An emphasis will be placed on global awareness through integration of subject areas by studying issues from multiple perspectives.  Students will develop investigational skills and a conceptual understanding of how science works in their daily lives including exploration of global issues and problem solution design.  Students will learn to communicate through visual representations.  Opportunities will be provided to develop and communicate positive, diverse attitudes and concepts in relation to other cultures.  Students will be asked to analyze and explain risks and benefits of science and technology, working simultaneously to become independent thinkers and cooperative workers.  Students will study the nature of science, science as inquiry, skills and processes needed in science, and technology in science through environmental, social and personal perspectives.  An emphasis will be placed on global awareness through integration of subject areas by studying issues from multiple perspectives.  Students will develop investigational skills and a conceptual understanding of how science works in their daily lives including exploration of global issues and problem solution design.  Students will learn to communicate through visual representations.  Opportunities will be provided to develop and communicate positive, diverse attitudes and concepts in relation to other cultures.  Students will be asked to analyze and explain risks and benefits of science and technology, working simultaneously to become independent thinkers and cooperative workers.
