This responsibility may include any of the following as needed: keeping minutes of GBA meetings; coordinating calendar and room requests; attending meetings of the Plan/Ops committee; speaking at or creating documents for school events; coordinating club conferences and providing related training; working on issues related to student use of FirstClass; maintaining a current MBA leadership list; and providing any additional correspondence or assistance needed by the Executive Council. –The Vice President of Communications is responsible for coordinating matters related to communications as well as facilities. The Vice President of Student Activities is responsible for overseeing the social activities for the graduate business students. Social activities include, but are not limited to, seasonal functions, faculty student mixers, cultural events, intramural sports. The Vice President of Student Activities may appoint another person or committee to organize any particular event or activity. However, the Vice President of Student Activities is still responsible for the outcome of such events or activities. –The Vice President of Student Activities is responsible for overseeing the social activities for the graduate business students. Social activities include, but are not limited to, seasonal functions, faculty student mixers, weekly social gatherings, and cultural events. The Vice President of Student Activities may appoint another person or committee to organize any particular event or activity. The Vice President of Student Affairs may also coordinate events with other clubs or groups, who wish to organize a function. –Other Info: The VP of Student Activities is responsible for arranging weekly courtyard kegs including ordering, payment and pickup of the kegs. Committee members will often help out and sponsoring clubs are responsible for this during designated weeks. In addition, the VP will plan semi-formal, formal, Slope day and any other 'social' events as determined by the GBA. The VP is NOT responsible for IBA Potluck, mixers at Miller Ward Alumni House, Welcome Weekend or Orientation festivities. VP of Student Activities Alok Tandon

–The Vice President of Academic Affairs shall represent the interests of students in improving all aspects of the academic environment at Goizueta. –This position shall chair a committee comprised of elected club representatives. –This committee will be expected to serve as the liaison between current students, faculty, and the administration, in order to further the academic experience of students. –This committee should consider, but is not limited to, the areas of career and skill preparation, academic content improvement, feedback and class evaluations, as well as logistics of the academic calendar. –The Vice President of Academic Affairs will keep the GBA informed of key issues, initiatives, and progress, accomplished by the committee. –The VP of Academic Affairs also chairs the upcoming leadership case competition, the gift of the Class of The Officer will work with a faculty advisor and will be responsible for forming a committee of peers to assist in organizing and executing the case competition. The Vice President of Alumni Relations represents the interests of current students who will be future alumni from the Goizueta Business School. This position works with the Office of Alumni Relations and the Development Office to create programs which bring together current MBA students with alumni for networking and social events. The Vice President of Alumni Relations holds a seat on the Goizueta Alumni Association Board and attends quarterly meetings to provide updates from the student body and receive feedback from the alumni. The Officer also supports special projects of the GBA Executive Council such as the graduating Class Gift and Reunion activities. –The Vice President of Alumni Relations represents the interests of current students who will be future alumni from the Goizueta Business School. This position works with the Office of Alumni Relations, the Development Office, as well as club alumni representatives, to facilitate relationships between current MBA students and alumni. The Vice President of Alumni Relations attends quarterly meetings of the Goizueta Alumni Association Board to provide updates from the student body and receive feedback from the alumni. The Officer also chairs special projects of the GBA Executive Council, such as the graduating Class Gift and, after graduation, the class's five-year reunion activities. –Other Info: The largest initiative of the VP of Alumni Relations is chairing the Class Gift Campaign. This responsibility includes selecting and leading a steering committee, managing the gift idea generation and voting processes, and (together with the steering committee) organizing and executing a one-month marketing and fundraising campaign (this usually runs from late March until the last class day in April). The Class Gift is a monetary gift to the Goizueta Business School, usually designated for a specific purpose that expresses the class's legacy as well as its support for the school's future. –VP is responsible for overseeing and, in conjunction with the CMC, appointing a leader for the Career Action Group (CAG) program, which provides structured 2nd year student support for the 1st year student career/internship education and search. –VP is responsible for overseeing and, in conjunction with the CMC, appointing a leader(s) for the Corporate Liaison program. This program manages the assignment of student volunteers to serve as a point of contact and facilitator for individual on-campus company presentations. –VP is responsible for providing a two-way conduit, through informal and formal mechanisms (town halls, surveys, one-on-one interviews) to convey feedback between the CMC and student body to understand what feedback is actionable or not, why/why not, and to facilitate adaptation where possible. –Club "Committee" - Help facilitate the synchronization of CMC and Club events, with the goal to achieve maximum benefit with minimum redundancy. This can also facilitate the exchange of feedback between the CMC and the student leadership. –Will keep the GBA informed of key issues, initiatives, and progress accomplished by the committee. –Will represent the interests of students in enhancing and maximizing the career opportunities available to them at Goizueta. –The Vice President of University Relations shall represent all interests of the GBA to the Student Government Association (SGA), University Senate (US), and Graduate Senate (GS) and shall report all pertinent activity to the GBA Executive Council. Additionally, the Vice President of University Relations will officially be responsible for coordinating with the representatives of the other graduate divisions to organize social events and cross-school initiatives to promote interaction between the graduate divisions of Emory University as deemed appropriate by the Executive Council. –The Vice President of Community Relations acts as a facilitator to promote the awareness and the coordination of servant leadership and community service initiatives engaging Goizueta stakeholders. Furthermore, the Vice President of Community Relations acts as liaison between the community related clubs (Goizueta Gives, etc.) and the GBA to ensure that the community outreach goals of the Goizueta Business School are carried out. The VP Community Relations supports community service based club efforts, particularly when it comes to dealing with the GBA and administration providing both technical assistance and advocacy support. –The Vice President of Multicultural Affairs shall represent the specific interests of underrepresented constituencies within our student community at Goizueta. The VP of Multicultural Affairs will keep the GBA informed of key issues, initiatives, and progress, accomplished by the committee. The VPMCA is an active voice on the GBA for cultural organizations and underrepresented students in the Goizueta community. The VPMCA will act as a liaison for these organizations with the GBA and with the Goizueta community. The VPMCA will work closely with the Director of Diversity & Community Initiatives to promote diversity and community initiatives and programs. Vp of Multicultural Affairs Shanice Wang

In the fall, each first year section will elect one representative to serve on the GBA Council. The first year section representatives shall represent the views and concerns of the first year, full-time graduate students in the GBA meetings and in interactions with the faculty and administration. They shall also work closely with the GBA Council to establish close interclass ties and a unified student body, and work with the GBA Council on special projects pertaining to the overall MBA program as well as the first year class exclusively. They will participate in the following activities: –GBA meetings (1.5 hrs per week) –Meet with Program office biweekly (1 hour or so) –Spokesman in section for fundraisers, section-wide announcements, etc. –Often involved in class-wide surveys to gather opinions –Organize “Courage” event for the class of 2010 (E.g. skydiving) –Section feud logistics (a game show type of event where the 3 sections compete against each other) –Ad hoc projects requested by GBA or program office or that the section reps feel are necessary Section Representatives Brian Claveria, Jen McDonald, Liz Stanton
