The elimination of accidents, injuries, and fatalities is a common goal shared by the various groups associated with mining. The collaborative effort from the State/Federal agencies, mining companies, mining organizations, mine labor, safety and health organizations, and academia has shown to be effective in promoting and achieving safer mines.
