Slide 5 Recap of course material Change Management- Session Closure and Wrap up e-Governance in managed Change Environment: - Will ensure realistic setting of expectations and identification of barriers upfront. - Employees will be able to acknowledge, understand and adapt to change much faster reaping higher than normal benefits and driving organizational performance. e-Governance: Unmanaged Change: - Employees realizing the complexity of change develop a feeling of powerlessness, despair and a sense of unfulfilled potential. - This pulls down the organizational performance and prolongs the time taken to accept and adapt to the change measures High Expectations Realization of effort & complexity Despair Light at the end of the tunnel Better than before Organizational performance Time Manage Expectations Manage Expectations Prepare stakeholders, minimize confusion & frustration Engaged stakeholders embrace, rather than just accept changes Managing change will help us minimize the length and breadth of the performance and motivation dip that most change efforts cause

Slide 6 Change Management issues in e-Governance projects: Attitudes of people towards technology Processes have acquired rigidity and have become an end in themselves Underlying Assumptions: Security, Suspicion Perception of loss of power, authority and discretion Ignorance of capabilities of tools and benefits Lack of faith in digital documents Lack of ownership/leadership Recap of course material Change Management- Session Closure and Wrap up

Slide 9 The introduction of e-Governance calls for a change in behavior by members of society Opposition is inevitable and must be expected, but can be minimized with a strategic communication program e-Governance agenda should not be driven solely by technology, but be focused on meeting citizens’ needs through the use of technology Main Communication Needs in e-Governance: Build support and promote its usage  Internally: within state bodies, and  Externally: among end-users It is crucial to segment stakeholders as well as to understand their interests and concerns regarding the introduction of e-Governance Why Communication is Important Change Management- Session Closure and Wrap up
