ABDALLAH ALI & MOSTAFA SARHAN 9AA DIFFERENT TYPES OF COMPUTERS
MAINFRAME Mainframes are powerful computers used by big companies and governments. Some characteristics are: Nearly all mainframe computers can run multiple operating systems. They can add system information without shutting down a computer.
MINICOMPUTER A minicomputer is the medium level of the computing spectrum. Largest being mainframe and smallest microcomputer. Minicomputers were first built by companies such as HP and DEC. The classical minis were 16bit while the upgraded ones were referred to as ‘superminis’ and were 32bit.
MICROCOMPUTER They have microprocessors as the CPU. Really small compared to mainframe and minicomputers.
ENDING NOTE: So we have talked about the three different types of computers and we have listed characteristics and some information about each of them. Mainframe computers are the largest, microcomputers are middle-sized and minicomputers are the smallest, hence the name. Thank you for reading our presentation!
