The following PowerPoint is a collection of screen shots of the lesson as it is taking place. After lesson students will have time to search their own topics to practice using the application

Using the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)

Step 1: Start PC Press Power Button Press Power Button

Step 2: Find OPAC Icon on Desktop and Launch Application

Step 3: Enter Search Term in the Correct Space

Step 4: Choose Search Type

Step 4: Choose Search Type: Keyword – searches ALL titles, authors, subjects, series and notes

Step 4: Choose Search Type: Title – looks at all the titles in the catalog

Step 4: Choose Search Type: Author – looks at all of the author and illustrator information

Step 4: Choose Search Type: Subject – looks at all the subjects in the catalog

Choose Appropriate Result

Is Book Available?

If Yes add to Book Bag, If No Return to Step 3
