By Tori Hare

o “In the first place no one care enough to come down here, and in the second place if anyone should come, maybe he could see all the things we need current books for all are subjects not just somebody's old throwaways desk, paper, blackboards, erasers, maps, chalk…”

 Nobody cared about us about me, about you. Nobody cared what we’d think. What we’d say what we’d do your going through changes everything around you rearranges. But you have got to be strong. And you’ve got to carry on. Everything will wash away in the rain.

 How lyrics relate to nobody caring was before mama got fired nobody cared about them, what they did or how they lived there lives. What they wanted was for somebody to see how they lived and for somebody to care about them.

 “We been wanting on you for an hour while you round here waiting on everybody else and it ain’t fair. You got no right”.

 You can take everything I have You can break everything I am Like I'm made of glass Like I'm made of paper Go on and try to tear me down I will be rising from the ground.

 How the lyrics relate to Cassie when she had to wait is no matter how long she had to wait or how bad they treaded her she was not going to be defeated.

 I’ll show y’all how we’re gonna stop that bus from splashing us”.

 It's the eye of the tiger It's the thrill of the fight Rising up to the challenge of our rival.

o How lyrics relate to the splashing is he is going to rise up to the challenge and show the Logans how he is going to stop the bus from splashing them.

 The Logan kids dug a hole in the road so the bus will not splash them anymore and show the whites how it feels to get dirty everyday.

 One way or another, I'm gonna find ya' I'm gonna get ya', One way or another, I'm gonna win ya' I'm gonna get ya', One way or another, I'm gonna see ya

 How the lyrics relate to the logans digging the hole is they were going to show the whites how it feels to walk every day to school and they were not going to quit until they showed them what it was like to walk.

 Logan’s land

 Cotton on the roadside, cotton in the ditch. We all picked the cotton but we never got rich.

 How lyrics relate to the land is they all worked hard and they just made ends meet.

 THE FIRE

 She's just a girl, and she's on fire Hotter than a fantasy, lonely like a highway She's living in a world, and it's on fire Feeling the catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away Oh, she got both feet on the ground And she's burning it down Oh, she got her head in the clouds And she's not backing down.

 The lyrics relate to the fire because in the lyrics it said she’s not backing down and the whites and blacks were not going to quit until they got the fire out.

 Papa had to pay the payment that mr. granger wanted now and the payment was not due then it was to early.

 "The time has come to say fair's fair to pay the rent to pay our share"

 How the lyrics relate to the payment papa had to pay is papa wanted to be treaded fair and Mr. Granger made papa pay the payment early and papa wanted to pay on the time he always has.

 Uncle hammers car

 Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz. My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends. Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends. So oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.

 How lyrics relate to the symbol is uncle hammer worked all his life and he wanted a better car when he seen Mr. Grangers car.

 “Well naw, I ain’t, planning on it just if I gotta” said T.J. Well now you ain’t gonna” said Stacy.

 Your cheatin' heart, Will make you weep, You'll cry and cry, And try to sleep, But sleep won't come, The whole night through, Your cheatin heart, will tell on you...

 How the lyrics relate to cheating is T.J. knows in his heart that he was cheating and no good will ever come from that.

 “For the past year now are family been shopping at Vicksburg. There are a number or stores down there and we’ve found several that will treat us well”.

 There are two paths you can go by, but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on.

 How lyrics relate to the different paths is they were treaded fairly In Vicksburg so they chose to shop there instead of shopping at the Wallace store were they were treaded unfairly.
