Procedures for Correcting Problem Behaviors Artesani 2010

Problems with Punishment A. Does not teach desired behaviors. B. Often does not produce long term behavior change. C. Leads to negative interactions, relationships, and stress. D. Effectiveness is generally stronger when used reinforcement. E. Mild punishment tends to work well for kids in the 80%. ***Punishment works best when combined with programs that teach and reinforce expected behaviors. Artesani 2010
