Background The aim of this session is to bring together people interested in capacity development and to share experience. Capacity development is one of those typical subjects that everyone considers a priority, but almost never gets the priority it deserves. One of the main issues is the capturing of capacity development activities and initiatives and the accessibility of capacity development material. The aim of this side-event is to share information on capacity building activities, programmes, especially from developing countries and to look at possibilities for cooperation and coordination between existing resource facilities.
