FACTOR & PRODUCT Factor- A number that is multiplied by another number to find a product. Product- The answer to a multiplication problem. 5 x 7 = 35 5 and 7 are factors. 35 is the product.

MULTIPLE The product of two counting numbers is called a multiple of each of those numbers. EX. The multiples of 3 is any product that has a 3 as a factor. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30…

Square Numbers What is a square number? How can we use multiplication to find square numbers?

SQUARE NUMBER The number you get when you multiply a factor (integer) by itself. Example: 4 × 4 = 16, so 16 is a square number.

PRIME A Prime Number can be divided evenly only by 1, or itself. And it must be a whole number greater than 1. Example: 5 can only be divided evenly by 1 or 5.

Challenge

The park has 16 sprinklers. They can spray 50 liters of water on the grass in one minute. How many liters can they spray in 38 minutes?

You can buy 7 pounds of bananas for 2 dollars and 3 boxes of cereal for 5 dollars. How much would it cost to get 14 pounds of bananas and 6 boxes of cereal?

Alex is planning to make 8 bracelets. He will use 5 beads for each one. He wants to sell all the bracelets for 10 dollars each. How many more beads would he need if he decided to make 10 bracelets with 6 beads on each one?

The room has two windows the are each 2 feet wide and 4 feet high. There is also a door that is 3 feet wide and 7 feet high. Juan plans to use paint that cover 100 square feet per quart. How many quarts of paint will Juan need to paint his room?
