Scotland Scotland is part of the UK and covers the northern part of the island of Great Britain. What do you think when you hear the word Scotland? I believe that the kilt and bagpipes are the first things you think about. Kilts are the traditional skirt for Scots men and the bagpipe is a traditional kind of wind musical instrument consisting of a bag and a wooden part. The bagpipe is a traditional instrument throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East and is particularly famous in Scotland.

Highlands-Highlanders Scotland is basically divided into two areas, the mountainous areas (Highlands), and in the lowlands (Lowlands).Respectively its inhabitants, who are mostly Celtic origin, are divided on mountain (Highlanders) and lowland ( Lowlanders). The Highlanders are those who consider themselves, their most genuine Scots, live in the mountains, mainly in the north. On September 18, 2014 held a referendum on the independence of Scotland from the United Kingdom but the answer was NO.
