John Candy Jared Withage

Background and History  Born in October 31, 1950 and died on March 4, 1994  Played football and hockey in school but got injured so he started to focus on his real passion which was comedic acting.  Started acting in school plays and went to the Toronto's Centennial Community College and got a job with a children's theater company.

 Tried out for Chicago's renowned Second City improvisational-comedy troupe, which was opening a Toronto branch. John was deemed so good he was asked to join the main company in Chicago.  In 1983, John would go on to star in numerous Hollywood movies.  From there it was all uphill and Candy would star in such movies as Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Spaceballs, Brewster's Millions, Uncle Buck, and Cool Runnings.  Died in Durango, Mexico while away shooting a new movie.

What types of comedy or humor does this person or group tend to focus on?  John Candy often made fun of himself being the big guy that he is.  He usually was the big buffoon of the movie. National Lampoon’s Vacation, Uncle Buck
