“Wireless Sensor Network for Traffic Routing” Presented by Amr abd el fattah

Introduction In Egypt we suffer from many problems: 1.Traffic jams. 2.The late emergency response to accidents. These problems and more are solved by my design

The Main Idea The main idea of the system: Locating a sensor node inside each car. These nodes report to a central sink node the location and the speed of the car. The sink node then alerts the authorities if any accident happened. It also can inform the user about the status of the street that he asked about to decide whether to take an alternative route or not.

The Main Achievements This project can contribute in solving some of the major problems in Egypt: 1.It can solve the traffic jam due to accidents problem by reporting the accidents to the authorities which may contribute in saving many lives. 2.It can solve the Vehicle theft problems by reporting the car location to the authorities.

Sensor Nodes construction Each sensor node will be constructed as follows: –Speed sensor to extract the speed of the car. – Location sensor to extract the location with the help of other nodes that will be attached to a known location and send the data to all nodes in its range. the sensor node will send those data to the sink node periodically.

Sink node responsibilities The sink nodes will be distributed each main street. The sensor nodes will send the data to the nearest sink node. Then those sink nodes will send the data over internet to the main sink node.

System capabilities This system will offer many services: –Make sure that every car is following the traffic rules. –Alert the authorities of any accident or a traffic jam. –Allow users to know updates on the status of streets on their demand.

The Challenges That project has many issues: –How to get approval to put a node inside each car? –Where to put the location nodes to get best accuracy? –How the node report only to the nearest sink node?

Thank you
