Unrest-O-Meter Please take out your completed “Unrest” packet.

Something to cheer you up…  Human Rights Week – You can still turn in your permission slip for tomorrow! Bring it to the PAC 2 nd hour, signed by your 2 nd hour teacher and a parent/guardian.  WwruY WwruY

Last week…  You worked with Season Buddies to dissect the many different events of the French Revolution.  For homework… You were to complete the “Unrest Rating” and “Rationale.” How important were these events? How much unrest did they add? WHY?

HOW DO THESE EVENTS AFFECT THE UNREST-O-METER? Little or no effect. Doesn’t add much tension. Small importan ce. Small #. Large effect. Adds a lot of tension! VERY important. Larger #. Some effect is seen. Adds to the tension! Medium importance. Medium #.

With your Summer Buddy…  On a piece of looseleaf… Put ONE buddy’s name in the top left corner, put the OTHER buddy’s name in the top right corner. Answer the Four Questions, using your Unrest-O- Meter packet and your background knowledge.  I will be coming around to check if you finished your packet. If you DID FINISH – you can get up to full credit for this assignment and the Q’s. If you DID NOT FINISH – you can get up to ½ credit if you are still working with your partner and helping out.  10 minutes to finish. Turn in with names!

Summer Buddies: Four Questions Using your Unrest-O-Meter, work with your Buddy to answer the following questions. 1. What event contributed THE MOST to the coming of the French Revolution? Explain. 2. What could King Louis XVI have done to prevent it? Think about the choices he made or didn’t make during certain events… 3. What could the citizens of France have done to prevent it? 4. If you had to summarize the cause of the French Revolution in one sentence, what would it be?

Legacy of the French Revolution  Video clip (~20:00)

On your own… Think Now!  On the BACK of your Unrest packet, brainstorm as we watch the video… 1. What are THREE reasons the French Revolution should be considered a success? 2. What are THREE reasons the French Revolution should be considered a failure? 3. What is your overall opinion? Explain!

Break time!
