Kensington Village Retirement/Nursing Home November Ai Kensington Village Mission Statement: Providing “Resident First” Care GREETINGS FROM THE KITCHEN ! Over the course of the last two months the Retirement kitchen has been making a substantial amount of deserts in house. We hope you have been enjoying them, as much as we have enjoyed preparing them for you. In November we will be celebrating National Doughnut Day, enjoying a smoothie bar as well as a Wine & Cheese tasting and a Chili cook-off! Please join us on Tuesday’s at 3pm in the café and Thursday’s at 10am in Thames. “Culinary Quote of the Month” Anything is good if it’s made of Chocolate. Thank you to all staff and families for their continued patience during our renovations. Just a reminder that entrance for LTC is located on the North side of the building at the back. Please look for the signs located off the Huron entrance for guidance. Our team welcomes any suggestions or comments to help make this phase of construction as easy as possible for our residents, families and staff members. Any questions, please call Leslie ext-255 Any questions regarding the construction please call Amy DID YOU KNOW: The symbol of the poppy is derived from, “In Flanders Fields”, a poem by Canadian Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae- but the custom of wearing a symbolic poppy came from Moina Michael, a YMCA worker who was inspired by the poem and made a personal pledge to wear the red poppy as a sign of remembrance and for “Keeping the faith with all who died”. *LTC Family Council Lunch Meeting* Monday November 30 th, 12:00 Location: REGENCY ROOM Please be sure to RSVP to Ext:221, if you plan to attend.
