Optimization of Land Usage with the Support of Fuzzy Based Model V. Honfi – R. P. Micsinai University of Kaposvár, Faculty of Economic Science 2006.

Hypothesis To find the functions of the country we need to know: the ecological conditions of the land, the restrictive conditions, which influences the type of the usage, the economical conditions, the political and social environment.

An important question Are the Information, which we are in possession of the examined territory, fairly multiple and exact?

Grassland in different Databases (hectare-sized) (1)- CORINE Land Cover 1: Institute of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing (FÖMI, 1998) (2)- Agriculture in Hungary, Central Statistical Office (KSH, 2000) (3)- Central Land Registry Database (FÖMI, 2005) SettlementCORINE (1) ÁMÖ 2000 (2) CLRD (3) Gamás-43,65160,96 Somogybabod-35,259,02 Somogytúr-66,67257,89 Sum total802145,57427, 87

Problem and solution The statistical evaluation and Land Registry Data are not fairly exact We can’t use this Data for strategic analysis. We made a model, which consider the slope angle of the territory and the quality of the arable land for the estimation of a territory. The attributes and result of the analysis are connected with plots, We can propose motions regard to the land usage of the plots.

The Model category values, as membership functions of fuzzy sets. Input Data: –slope, –quality of the land (gold crown). Quality index SlopeGood qualityMiddle gradeInferior quality FlatFieldGrasslandForest SlopingGrassland Forest SteepForest

The prospective values

Settlement Arable land (ha) (KSH) Estimated grassland (ha) % Gamás1768,38597,5333,8 Somogybabod1465,49275,5118,8 Somogytúr2499,92947,4637,9 Sum total5733,791820,531,75 RESULTS

Checking the results 1.checked on a 790 hectares-sized territory based on specific outputs regarded as the critical level of production. 2.comparison with the results of SCALIS project. /SCALIS- Somogy County Agricultural Information System made by Hemmis N.V. Belgium/

Controlling I. The field-registers (from 2000 to 2005) contanied: - the type of the usage, - production of the plants, the critical level of production: maize - 6,5 t/ha, wheat - 4,5 t/ha, spring barley - 3,5 t/ha.

Controlling II. SCALIS- Conceptual model

Using soil information (physical soil characteristics, water management and soil type), suitability matrices will be produced for a list of selected crops. For those crops where the relief is important as well (like vineyards and greenhouses), the information about the slope and the direction of the slope will be taken into account. Based on the slope, a soil erosion sensitivity map will be produced using the universal soil loss equation. The final result of the project is to get a structure plan for agriculture (Ecological view).

Conclusion The model elaborated by us, can be used to study the size of the territory suitable for the grassland. Not just the suitability for the grassland, but the possibility of alternative usage can be examined. The model can be used for planning the land usage in other regions. The results are promising, The refinement of the model is possible on bigger area.

Thank You for the interest!
