Architectural sounds By Trent Lanier

Architectural acoustics  The sounds that comes off of buildings. It normally happens in the building. Here’s a good example of the definition.  Room acoustics is the interior design of a building that triggers the music/sounds example echoes

Reverberations  The resound in a succession of echoes in the building or room.

How do you get the sound  the shape plays a big role in the room. But the parts of the room that effects it is more important.  The walls have to have a shape that open the room  The room has to have a huge in interior like a gymnasium  The room has to be long so the sound can echo though the room 

The acoustic properties of auditoriums  The acoustic properties a very important in making a auditorium because you would need to know what materials makes sound and how to make the space for the sound.

Properties of our schools auditorium  The way the school’s auditorium is constructed is for a reason. It’s for the sound waves to bounce off of the walls so that it echoes through the room  The clouds up top elevates the sound.

Properties of the Kimmel center  The verizon hall was designed in the shape of a stringed instrument.  Certain acoustics were added to absorb sound and reduce reverberation like the curtains and by the doors opening and closing the sound changes.  So by the the shape being the way it is it helps the sound comes out more.

Compare the two  By the shapes of the auditorium, the sound is supposed come out like a musical instrument because the walls curve it in that way.

Should a restaurant be the same  No because no one is giving speeches and no one is usually singing. A restaurant does need a large eating spot because anything can happen, a fire, a fight.  But a restaurant shouldn’t be constructed the same way as a auditorium.

What about a place for a speech  I think the US House of Representatives is a great place to give a speech.  It has a nice shape so the sound can echo through the room.It also has a hemisphere shape so the sound can reach every one at the same time.
