Plant Transport System By: Kareem Ahmed

Plant Transport System The plant transport system uses many different thin tubes inside it that carry liquids up and down the stem and all around the plant. The plant transport system uses many different thin tubes inside it that carry liquids up and down the stem and all around the plant. The two main systems that are used are xylem and phloem. The two main systems that are used are xylem and phloem. Xylem- Xylem moves water through the plant and solutes it. Phloem- Phloem moves substances and food from the leaves to the rest of the plant. Diffusion Definition: Diffusion is the transport system of plants used to carry things through their body. Definition: Diffusion is the transport system of plants used to carry things through their body. Diffusion can only be used on very small organisms like plants because other bodies are too large to simply diffuse materials in an out. Human Transport System There is also a human transport system that transfers the same things with the human body. There is also a human transport system that transfers the same things with the human body. The blood is our transport system It brings our food and oxygen to our cells. Xylem The xylem system is the system of bringing water all the way from the roots or earth across the plant and to the laves. The xylem system is the system of bringing water all the way from the roots or earth across the plant and to the laves. The Xylems systems tubes are very strong and thick tubes. They move minerals and water to the leaves where they will be ready to use for photosynthesis. The Xylems systems tubes are very strong and thick tubes. Xylem- Structure When water and minerals are absorbed by the roots they are not immediately sent up they are brought through xylem (plant tissue). When water and minerals are absorbed by the roots they are not immediately sent up they are brought through xylem (plant tissue). There are tracheary elements that together help transport water through the xylem they are the tracheids and vessel elements. Phloem The Phloem system is the system of moving dissolved sugars and amino acids which are made in the leaves by photosynthesis to the rest of the plant. The Phloem system is the system of moving dissolved sugars and amino acids which are made in the leaves by photosynthesis to the rest of the plant. The phloem tubes carries the food to every part of the plant. The phloem tubes carries the food to every part of the plant.

Phloem Structure The Phloem has many supportive cells such as fibers and sclereids but phloem tissue also consists of conducting cells. The conducting cells include specialized and unspecialized cells which are companion and albuminous cells. Photosynthesis Photosynthesis is the process plants use to create food using the suns energy and a few simple substances around them. Photosynthesis is the process plants use to create food using the suns energy and a few simple substances around them. The substances needed for photosynthesis are chlorophyll, carbon dioxide and water combined with the suns power creates glucose which is the plants food used to sustain it.
