The students will be able to analyze the political, economic, and cultural changes with the “Atlantic World” by describing the impact on colonial societies in North America

Collaboratively define the concept of Anglicization.

In groups, you will analyze the various components of Anglicization and the factors behind its acceleration during the 18 th century

Describe the 3 types of colonies-charter, royal, and proprietary. Discuss the religious make up of the colonies. Explain the concept of established churches- distribute Established churches/MD religious timeline

You are a colonist living in Maryland in You see British influence everywhere, even though many settlers, especially in Pennsylvania and Delaware are from countries other than England. Write 2 paragraphs to a friend in England, one explaining which factor was most responsible for this Anglicization and why: and the other describing at least one political, one economic and one cultural similarity between the colonies and England.

Students will debate the impact of the Great Awakening and the Enlightenment and decide which event had more of an impact on the 18 th century Atlantic World and American society
