Goya Francisco de Goya y Lucientes was a Spanish painter and engraver. His work includes themural and easel painting, printmaking and drawing. In all these facets developed a style that opens Romanticism. Goya Art is also the beginning of contemporary painting, and is considered a precursor of the avant- garde painting of the twentieth century.

Saturn devouring a child The painting Saturn devouring a child is one of the oil paintings on plaster that was part of the decoration of the walls of the house that Francisco de Goya in 1819 became known as the Quinta del Sordo and therefore belongs to the series of the Black Paintings. Features: -The theme of Saturn is associated with melancholy and destruction. -Chiaroscuro lighting extremely contrasted. - Uses a range of black and white, spot colors applied in thick, ocher and red carnations for living flesh to the child.
