Program Review The ASVAB Career Exploration Program provides career exploration and planning materials to high schools across the country. The Program encourages students to explore a wide variety of careers, rather than limiting their exploration by telling them what they can or should do.

Keeping Options Open Planning and decision making are skills that will benefit you throughout your life. Career Development is an Ongoing Process Your career plans are in formative stage Career plans develop and change over time

Importance of Career Exploration Many times, students make decisions about college or careers before they have spent time thinking about the following key areas: The ASVAB Program gives you the opportunity to explore a variety of careers using knowledge you have gained about your interests and skills through assessment components and structured activities.

The Career Workshop After we receive your ASVAB scores, we will arrange a time for the career workshop. A military representative will come back to the high school to interpret scores and go through the career workshop with you. This workshop is usually scheduled in January.

ASVAB & Military Careers

ASVAB Program and the Military The ASVAB is required for any student who plan to enter the military. Each branch of the military sets minimum scores for entry. To learn more about minimum score requirements for each branch, visit The ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. Because it is also a military entrance test, you will likely be contacted by someone from the military after taking the test. You do not have to join the military, but you should be aware that you may be contacted by recruiters as a result of taking the test.
