The Ottoman Empire Anthony Bombara and Samantha Duncan

Ottoman Empire and Europe The empire discouraged interactions between its subjects and people from Europe because they wanted to keep their empire traditional. When European people immigrated into the Ottoman empire, if they weren’t Islamic and supported modern western Europe ways, than they lost liberties that the Muslim people shared.

Modern Technology During the Middle Ages, the Ottoman Empire was surpassed Europe in science, learning, and military skills. However, Europe began to make advances in these fields and soon passed the Ottoman Empire. Europe designed ships that were durable allowing them to cross the Atlantic.

Continued The Dutch and Portuguese then began to trade with Asia directly. The Ottomans no longer were the middle mans and their economy began to fall. The Ottomans later lost against a league of European States resulting in the Treaty of Carlowitz which marked the end of the Ottoman Expansion.
