8. Sanction policy procedure FSSC office manages the basic procedures and contacts with the CBs. Based on the rules and regulations in the FSSC scheme the Sanction Committee will make decisions based on the information provided by the office. Sanction Committee consists of three Board members, deciding on anonymous NC reports.

Yellow and red cards Yellow card Red card Corrective action CB within 3 months Despite corrective actions in case of a yellow card same remains valid for a period of 12 months Note: A yellow card is automatically raised in case of breach of a 0 tolerance indicator Red card Follows after a second yellow card on the same indicator within 3 months or After three yellow cards on the same indicator within 12 months And in case of multiple yellow cards on various indicators that cumulatively indicate a lack of appropriate control In case food safety is at risk a red card can be issued directly
