What is AIMS? Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards AIMS is a standardized test run by the state of Arizona. It is a test based on standards supported by the Arizona Academic Content Standards. 2 Copyright: content/uploads/2011/04/bubblesheet1.jpg

Who takes AIMS? Every student beginning in the third grade is required to take the AIMS tests In order to receive their high school diploma, every Arizona public high school student must meet the high school graduation requirement by receiving passing scores in the three content areas 3

Content Areas 4 Reading Grades: ALL Writing Grades: 5,6,7,9,10,11,12 Mathematics Grades: ALL Science Grades: 4,8,9,10,11,12

When Do AIMS Tests Occur? Dates are decided by the school/ district For grades 3-8, AIMS tests are taken in the middle of April For high school students, AIMS tests are taken at the end of October, at the end of February, and the beginning of April 5
