CUB SCOUTS AT PHORMS

What is Cub Scouts? Scouting promises you the great outdoors. As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. You’ll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you. There are plenty of skills for you to master, and you can teach others what you have learned. Being a Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Scouting is more than something to do. It's all about the boy you are and the person you will become.

Brief History of Scouting Scouting began in 1907 with Robert Baden-Powell Boy Scouts of America began in 1910 Cub Scouts 1930 Scouting has more than 40 million members world wide. Scouting (or the Scout Movement) has the stated aim of supporting young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society.

Cub Scouts at Phorms Learn to have fun and be safe in the great outdoors. Encourage the scouts to have international respect and perspective, but at the same time develop a strong identity with their own country. Develop a community where the boys learn to play and work together. „Giving back“ – encourage the boys to take an active role in their wider community. Encourage boys to be respectful of den leaders and other scouts.

Make sure they finish the tasks themselves so that they get a great sense of accomplishment. At home you are the „Akela“ and you can sign off on tasks. Help out where you can at den sessions, camps and day events. Help your child to attend the different meetings, pack events and camping.
