Special Education According to Marilyn Friend and William D. Bursuck in their book Including Students with Special Needs: A Practical Guide for Classroom Teachers, Special Education is defined as: A specifically designed instruction provided by the school district or other local education agency that meets the unique needs of students identified as disabled according to federal and state eligibility criteria.

Working with Special Need Students Have a positive environment in the classroom Break down the assignments for the students to make it more comprehendible and less overbearing Provide a homework folder for both the student and the parents to keep both informed for assignments; both past and present.
