WELCOME & OPENING We begin our worship in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly, While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high. Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past; Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.

CONFESSION AND DECLARATION OF GRACE

Friends in Christ: Let us draw near to God our Father with a true heart to confess our sins, and ask him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us. Our help is in the name of the Lord. He made heaven and earth. I said, I will confess my sins to the Lord. Then he forgave the guilt of my sin.

P: Almighty God, our maker and redeemer, we confess to you that by nature we are sinful and unclean, and that we have sinned against you by thought, word, and deed. Therefore we flee for refuge to your infinite mercy and plead for your grace for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ.

C. Most merciful God, you have given your only Son to die for us. Have mercy on us, and for his sake grant us forgiveness of all our sins. By your Holy Spirit increase our knowledge of you and your will, and make us obedient to your word, so that by your grace we may come to eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, has had mercy on us, and has given his only Son to die for us, and for his sake forgives us all our sins. To those who believe in his name he has given the right to become children of God, and has given them his Holy Spirit. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved. Grant this, Lord, to us all. Amen.

Psalm 1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Because of the unknown factor I. WE ARE TO WAKE UP! “…The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11) “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. (Matthew 24:42)

Because of the unknown factor WE ARE TO UNDERSTAND THE PRESENT TIME “understanding the present time” (Romans 13:11).

Luke 12 “54 …. “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, ‘It is going to rain’; and so it happens. 55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat’; and it happens. 56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?” (Luke 12)

It will be worth it all Sometimes the day seems long, Our trials hard to bear. We´re tempted to complain, to murmur and despair. But Christ will soon appear to catch his bride away! All tears forever over in God’s eternal day!

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus It will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of his dear face, all sorrow will erase. So, bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Sermon Series

The Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried.

He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

OFFERING PRAYER P: Thank you, God, for giving us so much, especially your Son, Jesus Christ. As you have loved and accepted us, teach us to love and accept others. Make us peace-loving and ready to serve. Amen.

Holy Communion It is indeed right and good, Lord God, holy Father, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. You have revealed your glorious presence to us in a new way through the mystery of the Word made flesh, so that as we see you in your Son, we are drawn to love you whom we cannot see.

C: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, Holy Communion And so, with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we adore and praise your glorious name: C: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

Holy Communion Words of Institution

Distribution Holy Communion is for believers in Jesus who desire to receive God’s forgiveness and believe that Christ is present in this celebration as they eat the bread and drink the wine. If this is what you believe, then you are welcome to partake in Holy Communion, whether you are a member of this congregation or not.

Prayer After Communion Almighty and merciful Father, thank you that your Son Jesus Christ has served us at his own table. As he became the servant of all, help us to be a servant to others. For he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
