Shadowing I job shadowed Mark Kaston. He showed me a lot of house pans and how he makes them on the computer. We also discussed allot about what he was designing now and what I thought I them. He showed me all the plans he designed to make the buildings. Then we went out to look at the site plan where they were going to make them. Then we went back to his office and discussed his normal routines and what a normal day is like for him.

Problems and Solutions Problems There is too much pollution We need better things to stop pollution Solutions Better designs New green technology

Topics Greener house designs Greener car designs Ways to become greener

Project design details and time spent I made a house plan using the computer program SoftPlan 14. In the program I made a house with solar panels and a waste water treatment system. I also designed a golf course that uses green techniques like using specific grass types that needs less water, cutting less, and using less chemicals.

Costs Wind Turbines 2 mega watt = 3.5 million 1 mega watt = 1.2 – 2.6 million 10 kilowatt = thousand On average home cost 3000 – to 5000 per kilo watt for home use Most effective between 7 – 45 mph winds Solar Panels dollar for every watt to power almost everything 5000 to power all of water Some do it yourself panels for only about 300 dollar and is 3 dollars per watt Bloom Boxes One fuel cell (one tile): 25 watts = 1 light bulb Small box with one stack of tiles: 1kW = 1 home, $3,000 (future product)( most American homes need more like 3-5 kW to be powered) Module: 25kW = small business Big box: 100kW = large business, $700,000-$800,000
