BACKWARD REGIONS GRANT CAPACITY BUILDING PLAN PANCHAYATI RAJ DEPARTMENT GOVERNMENT OF ODISHA PANCHAYATI RAJ DEPARTMENT GOVERNMENT OF ODISHA

 Enabling PRI representatives to upgrade their knowledge base and skills for effectively delivering their functions.  Enlightening key officials associated with the devolved functions to perform as technical advisors to the Panchayats.  Educating PRI Representatives and officials to exercise participatory decision making process for delivering their functions transparently.  Enhancing grass root level democracy through enlightened elected representatives on local governance.  To carry out functions and assignments related to Local Self Governance

 Undertakes various thematic training Programmes for the elected representatives and functionaries of 3-tier PRIs.  Facilitate various IEC activities and publications for better dissemination of schemes & programmes among the masses.  Preparation of training modules, manuals and resource materials for the Capacity Building of 3-tier PRIs.  Releases fund to H & UD Deptt. and P & C Deptt. against the approved CB Plan by HPC.  DRDA implements the CB Activities in collaboration with CPOs and Blocks at district level.

 385 Nos. of training programmes were orgaised where in 14,400 ( ) elected representatives and functionaries of 3-tier PRIs were trained.  Conduct of 187 Nos. of induction training Programmes for the elected PRI members in which 7401 Nos. of elected PRI members have been trained.  Completion of 5 nos of ToT on Financial Management for 174 Dist. Level Trainers  Conduct of 148 Nos. of field level training programmes on Financial Management for the 5346 Sarpanches and PEOs of GPs.  Conduct of 34 Nos. of in-house training programmes at SIRD for on different themes/schemes, imparting training to 1346 Nos. of officials.  Conduct of Social Audit in 3917Nos. of GPs.  Organisation of 11 Nos. of exposure visits in which 199. Nos. of PRI members visited different districts.  Printing of Manual on PESA for Scheduled Areas and Panchayat Sahayika Pustika for the induction module for 3Tier PRIs  Supporting the e-enablement of Panchayats.  Strengthening training infrastructure of SIRD.  HR support to SIRD in the conduct of Capacity Building training programmes of PRIs.
