Presentation transcript:

Primary Focus: Develop standards for sensors and systems that detect or measure linear or angular motion. Initiatives: - Maintain existing standards - Develop specification format guides and test procedures for new sensors or systems - July 9/10 in El Segundo, CA Goals: -Increase IMU community participation -Identify and recruit unrepresented groups -Resolve all known errata -Assign legacy documents to committees Last Meeting Future Meetings - Sept. 14/15 in Amityville, NY - Nov. 5/6 in Alamogordo, NM

Systems Committee Objectives Update IMU document plan as required Complete 100% of IMU document first draft by 1 August 2015 Compile new and revised system terminology to incorporate into the next revision of IEEE STD 1559 (Note that no revision is currently planned) Complete other assignments as prioritized by the Panel

Sensors Committee Objectives Complete the revision of IEEE STD 1293 Complete the resolution of known technical issues in IEEE STD 529 and publish drafted corrigenda Complete the resolution of known technical issues in IEEE STD 517 and publish drafted corrigenda Finish addressing known technical issues in IEEE STD 1554 through the corrigenda or revision process Compile new and revised sensor terminology to incorporate into the next revision of IEEE STD 528

Recent Accomplishments Revision of IEEE STD 1293, “Standard Specification Format Guide and Test Procedure for Linear, Single- Axis, Nongyroscopic Accelerometers,” is nearing completion Progress continues on IEEE STD 1780, “Draft Standard for the Specification of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs)” Corrigenda for IEEE STD 952, “Standard Specification Format Guide and Test Procedure for Single-Axis Interferometric Fiber Optic Gyros” is complete and the balloting process will be initiated
