Units 10 and What is the hydrosphere? 1.The hydrosphere contains all water that exists on the earth. Water covers 75% of earth’s surface. 97% of.
The Structure of Hydrosphere. Oceans—96.5% of water found here Fresh water—3.5% of water found here Fresh water distribution:  Ice: 1.762%  Groundwater:
Water that is constantly moving among the oceans, the atmosphere, the ground, and the biosphere There are six parts to the Water Cycle.

Unit 1 Earth’s Water Lesson 1 Water and Its Properties Lesson 2 The Water Cycle Lesson 3 Surface Water and Groundwater.
Lesson 1.1. Water Cycle Evaporation – heat from the sun changes surface water from a liquid to a gas Evaporation – heat from the sun changes surface.
Water Cycle The continuous movement of water between the ocean, the atmosphere and the land by evaporation, condensation, precipitation and runoff The.
 A large mass of moving ice. (frozen water)  A measure of the amount of dissolved salts in a given amount of liquid.
Transpiration Similar to evaporation, this is the loss of water through plants. – Pores in leaves (stomata) are opened to release oxygen and water vapor.
Journal #4 Why are river system constantly changing? The narrow depression that a stream follows downhill is called its _________. What causes the formation.
The Hydrologic (Water) Cycle. Where is water found? Water is stored on Earth in the:  oceans  icecaps and glaciers  groundwater  lakes  rivers 
Surface Water Includes: River Systems Ponds Lakes.
Name that term Rivers or streams that have been broken off from the main river source in due to deposition of sediment.
The Hydrosphere The hydrosphere includes all of the water on or near the Earth’s surface. This includes water in the oceans, lakes, rivers, wetlands, polar.
River systems. Runoff vs. Infiltration Factors determining runoff, or infiltration 1.Soil composition & pore space Coarse-grains & lots of humus = good.

WATER TEST REVIEW GRUDGE

GRUDGE RULES Each group has 10 X’s. Objective: Be the team with the most X’s by the end of the period. Winners get lollipops When your team gets a question right, you can take 2 X’s away from a team of your choice. –You can take 2 from one team or split it up and take 1 from two different teams.

GRUDGE RULES If your team is down to 0 X’s, you need to get your question right to gain 2 X’s back to stay in the game. Be polite: If your team is rude or talking while another team is answering a question, your team will lose points. Even if your team is not answering the question, consider the answer. Remember, the point is to review for everyone.
