Presentation transcript:

Here in Morocco bread is the main component of our meals. In most part of the country ;bread is partly baked at home but we take it to a traditional oven to be cooked and be ready to be served;this oven is big and it is heated with dry pieces of wood but sometimes with electricity. However,a lot of people purchase bread because the don't have the time to work it at home. The price of a roll or a loaf of bread is usually less than a quarter(20 cents).

In Morocco people eat two types of bread;a circling or round bread and rolls. We bake bread in the morning to be ready at lunch time. For breakfast, we usually purchase it from the bakery because it is fresh. Bread has a circular shape and it smells natural.we do not put any flavors in it but it has the smell of natural crops. It is served fresh at lunchtime in a bowl and we cut into small pieces.each one at the table takes as much as he needs. The main ingredients in bread are flour (wheat or corn),warm water, some yeast and some salt. Here is a recipe for our home made bread:Put some flour in a round big plate, add some warm water as you melt and mix together,we put some yeast which is capable of fermenting carbohydrates, then we add some salt and we keep mixing things together for about ten minutes.finally we cut the dough into 2 or 3 identical parts and press each part until we get a circular shape. Then we put them on a wooden plate and cover them for about 45 minutes until we see the size of the dough becomes thicker. We bake at home or send it to a traditional bakery in the neighborhood.

Common Ingredients for our Recipes…
