Assumptions Priority Relevancy Awareness Knowledge Requirements
What is the community’s relevant experience with noise? Its loud TTS Tinnitus Goes away No big deal (Certainly no pain)
What is the community’s relevant experience with Hearing Loss? It is a behavioural problem It is an old age problem ↨ It does not relate to them
Awareness If individuals are not aware there is a potential hazard why would they be interested in a solution? How do we raise awareness without being alarmist?
Through a health awareness “I need to look after myself” In the National School Curriculum, a single line that contains the line:- “ … awareness of noise as a hearing health issue … “
Conclusion It needs a national champion, a peak body, a co-ordinator, …, an organisation to ‘drive’ the programme once it gets started to keep the aims on track.
