Early life During her early life her mother really didn't have a part in it since she was always away working. at the age of 12 she was a prostitute with her mother and later convicted for it.

Beginning of career After being arrested for prostitution she started an interest in music. After she started in the music business she was given a nickname which was lady day.

career Later in her career she was known for her unique beats and voice in jazz she was at the peak of her comercial break and had made just about close to a million dollars which in her day was worth way more then it is now.
